Here, I look at the main settings of Covid-19 transmission in Hong Kong (as of 20/2/2020):
- Most Covid-19 transmission in Hong Kong is within families. Of the first 65 cases reported in HK, 27 (~ 42%) acquired the infection from a family member in a household or social setting where masks are less likely to be worn.
- However, 16/65 (24.6%) of patients acquired the infection from an unknown source. Some of these patients subsequently passed the infection to their family members.
- Imported cases only accounted for 4 of 41 cases reported since 7/2/2020.
To protect your family, please wear a mask in public areas. Avoid crowded areas and large gatherings at this time.
